I never cease being amazed at the way God so lovingly orchestrates the events in our lives. For several weeks, although I hadn't mentioned it to anyone, I had felt very drawn to the idea of becoming involved in the process of providing media coverage for the hit streaming television show The Chosen. I enjoy finding creative ways to express Christianity within the realm of my day-to-day business profession, and helping promote this brilliantly beautiful portrayal of the authentic life of Jesus Christ seemed like a perfect way to do just that. I had initially planned to reach out to Dallas Jenkins, the creator/writer/director of the show; but before I could even begin researching his contact details, his representing public relations agency unexpectedly sent me a message inviting me to attend the filming of the upcoming Season 3 #F5K episode depicting the Feeding of the 5,000.
What a day! Being both a journalist documenting the event as well as a costumed extra at the filming was such an extremely realistic way to imagine what it must've been like to experience the first-century miracle of Jesus multiplying five loaves of bread and two small fish to feed 5,000+ people. This historical yet contemporary seven-season series is so intriguing and so well done that it cuts past the burdensome superficial religiosity and triumphantly unveils the still-relevant tender heart of Christ.
